My son and I joined Menssana Martial Arts at the beginning of 2024. Prior to that, we were trained at another local martial arts school in Witney for a couple of years. Needless to say, we were a little apprehensive at the beginning about settling in a new environment, and whether we were able to transfer our knowledge in Karate to Taekwondo. Now looking back, this has easily been one of the best decisions we've ever made. Menssana Martial Arts strives for perfection and professionalism in every aspects and I don't just say this lightly. From the highly qualified and friendly instructors, the management, the class materials and structure, the communications, the tidiness of the Dojang, to the community, just to name a few. The dedication of the whole team is second to none. From the moment you step through the door, you are instantly made to feel welcome, giving you a sense of belonging. Despite the classes being popular and in large numbers, they are structured in such a compact yet fun way, keeping both children and adults engaged and challenged. The classes not only teach martial arts but much more beyond that. This is a place where you can explore and discover a better version of yourself, whether it's courage, confidence, kindness, acceptance, patience or resilience you need in your life. Ok, this is my first time writing a review for a place we dont even belong to!!!!

Tonight, I went in for a free trial session with my son. He is 3. And also tried a gymnastics class today. I'm a bad mom, we double booked.

So we show up at Master Schreiber's academy, and my son WILL NOT COOPERATE. Very out of character for him. But ... ya know.. I'm a terrible mother who pushed a three year old too far!

(I would also like to note, that as we waited for our orientation, we watched another class in action. The instructor was firm, and I heard several corrections through the class, but he was also encouraging and there for the kids. At one point, he literally had a student stand and define 'integrity' and the student did so with confidence and accuracy. The instructor applied a real life scenario and honed in on this concept. I was BEYOND impressed)

So Master S. does my son's orientation, and tries his absolute best to get him engaged. But Paul is having NONE OF IT. So we try. And Master S tries everything (with a gentle and firm hand) and can obviously tell its not going to happen. He assess the situation, and literally told me that tonight would not work, and we should reschedule his free trial/orientation for a day that he is not so tired and intimidated by what is going on in the gym.

I am a mother of three children 5 and under and I've never seen someone deal with my child in such an educated, lovely, and challenging way. We will be back next week, and my son WILL join.

This place is amazing. I'm in love with the customer service, the concept of ATA, and the integrity with which this organization runs. If you have a chance, be sure to visit. You won't be disappointed.

After watching for 3 years our youngest daughter who has Down Syndrome was able to start taking classes. She is treated just the same as the other students and given the same expectations with modifications when needed. The appreciation for special needs at this school is like no other children's activities we have been a part of.

I finally decided to try one of the Mother's Day specials and after taking class for a month decided I enjoyed it enough to start to practise for myself. I love seeing my body get better at kicks and punches and strive to memorise the form.

My son struggled with impulse control and a very short attention span. Several people suggested that martial arts might help him. So I signed him up; but the first school was not a good fit for various reasons.

This school is the exact opposite: welcoming family feel, very positive instruction, well trained engaging teachers who make personal connections with the kids, instructors learn each child's name, smaller class size for younger kids...A perfect fit for my son!

He has grown tremendously in his confidence, his focus and his discipline. He wants to practise at home! He is also maintaining positive relationship connections. He feels believed in at this academy and he now aspires to become a good leader.

Master Schreiber and his wonderful staff quickly adjusted to the COVID-19 shelter in place restrictions and did not miss a beat! Not only did they move live instruction online, they also added additional benefits like on demand video classes and exercise classes. These exercise and taekwondo classes became an essential parts of our shelter in place school schedule. Seeing the familiar faces of instructors and classmates helped put my son's worries at easy and strengthened him to handle the isolation of shelter in place. His whole world drastically changed (no more school), but so much of his experience with martial arts remained the same. Awesome job! Very grateful!

This review is much over due. I am very proud of my two girls who attend Master Schrieber's ATA Martial Arts. My girls started at 6 years old and 3.5 years old. I must say I was skeptical as to how long this would last. My 3 year old would cry before some classes. She needed assurance even though her older sister was with her. Sometimes I felt she would be so apprehensive I contemplated taking her out a handful of times. But she was just 3 and a half and I could see Master Schreiber would handle the situation(s) very well. I felt he knew when to encourage and when to step back and let her breathe. Im happy to say it has been almost 2 years now and my girls love It! I can't believe how my girls can retain all that they've learned and what they are presently learning. I see how confident they are, how mentally they retain information in other extra curricular activities they are involved in as well as take instruction from other teachers/instructors (school, dance, swim etc.). What started out as my Goal to have my girls learn self defence has become much more than I could hope for. I'm glad as a parent I Persevered in the beginning months because I see how self-confident and motivated my girls are to trying new things. I would absolutely recommend Master Schreiber's ATA Martial Arts to anyone considering!

I have NEVER written a yelp review. But This place deserves it. Last April I wanted to sign my 3yo son up, and my husband thought it was a good idea to sign my 7yo daughter as well. Both my daughter and I were hesitate, but she agreed to try it for the introductory month, and we asked for no further commitment from her. Well, 6 weeks later, she was in LOVE, and wanted to join the leadership program, which was a year commitment. Again I was hesitate, but this time my daughter wasn't. I finally agreed (it was only a year), and let me just say that is probably one of the best things I could have done for my daughter. She has gained so much self confidence in the past 6 months. The self confidence is starting to flow out into other activities. And as an added bonus, her focus and commitment to her school work has increase as well. As for my 3 year old son... He is learning more about focus and discipline every week... and it is in a fun and loving environment. Yes I used the word loving while writing a review about a martial arts studio. Senior Master Schreiber has passion and love for the ATA and it shows when he is out there teaching the kids. :)
